‎William Edwin Clarke‏‎ Born ‎31 Jul 1918‎, age 105 years Married ‎1940, age 21 or 22 years to: ‎Nancy Fay Sandercock‏‎, age by marriage 19 or 20 years Daughter of Rex Sandercock and Annie Baumgurtel‏. Born ‎4 Oct 1920‎, age 103 years MRS PLAYFORD AT KAY VEE BIRTHDAY. The Kay Vee Welfare Ladies held their seventh birthday party on Wednesday in the Kenton Valley Church. The floral decorations were beautifully arranged by Mesdames V.A. Lee and K.M. Cornish. Mrs Lance Nickels made and iced the butterfly-shaped cake, which was a credit to her. Mrs Leith lit the candles and Mrs M. Hanna fanned them out. Mrs T. Playford cut the cake. The President, Mrs Rex Sandercock took the chair and the song of Australia opened the afternoon's party. The President then introduced and welcomed Mrs Playford, guest speaker, who then spoke on her Coronation trip to England, describing the celebrations so well that all present felt that they too, were there. Little Gayl Nickels presented Mrs Playford with a posy. That lovely song "When you come home" was delightfully sung by Mrs Lewis Cornish. The Secretary, Mrs Lance Nickels gave a brief report on Kay Vee activities. The Ladies were very proud of the Memorial Gates which they have just had erected and thanked Graham Clark for donating the invitation cards. The Vice President, Mrs V.A. Lee moved a vote of thanks to the Speaker. Conveners of the trading table Mesdames H.W. Nickels and N. Sandercock did a brisk business. Mrs Alwyn Cornish convened Afternoon Tea and had many willing helpers who set it out on small tables. The afternoon was interesting and financially successful, £14/9/- was taken.
