We believe her to be the illegitimate daughter of Mary Ann Donovan, and that she adopted the Edwards name when Patrick and Mary Ann married. She may have been adopted by Patrick at some stage but we haven't been able to find any paperwork or information to confirm that theory. It was there that Catherine Donovan met John McGilp. Catherine and John McGilp were married in Dalby on 24 June, 1908 and made their home at `Hayfields`, Dalby.
